ok so i finished yesterday. the best word to describe my feeling at the end: empty. i felt very empty. im honestly not quite sure where i personally stand on God, but i really appreciated Ray's honesty and devotion to God & Jesus. makes you realize how ridiculous it is to let a damn publishing company control your life, and relationship with God. THANK YOU RAY FRANZ, YOU WERE THE REAL SHEEP AMONGST WOLVES

Seriously considering stepping down as Elder
by fader77 ini have been an elder for 6 years.
it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.
i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.

so we were supposed to go to meeting tonight, but we didnt. we have been feeling guilty and shameful all evening but then i read more in COC and it reminded me how they are false prophets. nonetheless, its hurting.
whats bad too is that our asleep witness friends who have no idea that we've awakened, keep inviting us places. we love them so much but have to keep quiet! this is tough.......

yes thanks guys! i did read combatting cult mind control last week. we were blown away. yes as an elder i clearly saw that there is more emphasis placed on procedure and policy than on the individuals. i will continue to post as we go thru our journey. we really want to avoid an ugly departure, so we're trying to be very careful. everyone here has been great.

thanks everyone so much for the comments! i needed this support. as for my wife, as one of you asked, she is taking this journey with me. in fact, she confessed that she ALWAYS has had doubts and saw that something wasnt quite right here.
yes i see too that franz was an apologist. we are not. we still love our brothers and sisters, and thats why the malawi thing hurt so much. but we are both filled with anger and hurt now.
i plan to make a post about our experience, but i was kind of holding out to see how this pans out. we had already made our plan to fade prior ro reading this book, but the fade will be accelerated now.

thanks for responding oppostate! yes, the part about malawi-particularly the rape of sisters really really hurt me deeply, having a wife of my own. its almost an unbearable thought. and for what?! a stupid party card. yes i'll try to post my thoughts as i go thru. its kind of funny im here at this point now, when just a few months ago i was an elder giving talks and etc :(

we are in the middle of our awakening and im on page page 192 of COC and im filled with a mix of emotions. its a roller-coaster of emotions! how could they do this to my people? have i really been lied to all this time? ugghhh....idk i guess i need some encouragement right now...anyone else went thru this?
